Melanie Houston is a proven leader who brings over fifteen years of public policy experience, integrity, and vision to the City of Grandview Heights.

In her professional career, Melanie serves as the Vice President of Programs for the Ohio Environmental Council (OEC), a state-wide environmental advocacy organization. In this role, she is responsible for leading and supporting the organization’s policy and field programs. Melanie is a member of the OEC’s leadership team and serves as a key organizational spokesperson. She graduated with honors from Denison University and earned a graduate degree from The Ohio State University.

Melanie is an active member of her community. She has supported or volunteered for the Grandview Heights Farmers’ Market, Sustainable Grandview, the Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff Historical Society, and the Grandview Civic Welfare Club. She also represents Grandview Heights on the Franklin County Democratic Party Central Committee.

Melanie is a 13-year resident of Grandview Heights. She lives on Lincoln Road with her husband and two children. In her free time, Melanie enjoys walking her dog, biking, swimming, and practicing yoga.
